Face-to-Face

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other, our customers, our partners or our industry colleagues. Sure, we’ve seen everyone on Zoom, made tons of telephone calls and sent out more emails than we could have ever imagined but it just isn’t the same as face-to-face conversation.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this and how important it is to have a good balance between knowing individual details and understanding how they fit into the overall situation. Kind of like not only hearing what a person is saying but understanding the overall issue.

That’s also true of fire alarm monitoring, dispatching and reporting. If you manage a large, multi-building campus, facility or complex, it’s important to be able to know both the details of individual events as they happen and at the same time, get a big-picture view of what is happening throughout the facility.
