Waltham, Mass., November 2002 – Keltron Corporation, leading provider of life safety event management solutions, today introduced the Model CEC Custom Electronic Controls option, now available for all models of its GA Series Graphic Annunciators. Keltron’s annunciator division, formerly D&S Technologies, boasts over twenty years of experience designing graphic, tabular, directory and latching annunciators for the fire and security market.
Keltron engineers designed the CEC control board to provide the most commonly requested custom operation features from a single printed circuit board. The board easily mounts on a metal plate in the annunciator back box, making installation easy and efficient. The multiplicity of operational options allows the stocking of a single product that satisfies multiple applications.
The CEC option facilitates facility-specific annunciator operation directly from dry contact inputs without expensive and time-consuming custom engineering. “This eliminates the high cost and long lead times usually associated with custom-engineered products,” said Steve Sargent, director of sales for Keltron.
Annunciators are generally integrated with an organization’s Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACPs). Other common life-safety applications include monitoring doors, emergency call buttons and systems, panic buttons, fence protection systems, and nurse call. Dry contact or relay-type inputs can be monitored and annunciated from almost any source.
